The Head of Project Delivery will play a critical role as Tavion begins the development and construction of its first portfolio of projects in Poland, reporting to the COO.
Role Description
The Head of Project Delivery will play a critical role as the company begins the development and construction of its first portfolio of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Poland. Reporting to the COO, this role is responsible for defining and implementing how the company plans, governs, and executes projects from origination through commercialization.
The role requires close collaboration across all company functions, including Development, M&A, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Construction, Asset Management, and Legal. The successful candidate will build the Project Delivery function and ensure projects are delivered in a structured, predictable, and investment-ready manner.
Key Responsibilities
Organization responsibility:
Build and lead the Project Delivery function, defining its mission, structure and governance
Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team of Project Managers, fostering accountability, clarity, and continuous professional growth.
Design and implement standardized project management methodologies, governance frameworks, risk management frameworks and stage-gate processes across the full BESS lifecycle.
Ensure consistent execution standards across all projects to maintain quality, compliance, transparency, and predictability from origination through commercialization.
Strategic responsibility:
Facilitate the cross-functional process of project portfolio prioritization, evaluating projects against strategic fit, IRR targets, risk exposure, resource constraints, and long-term pipeline objectives.
Operational responsibility:
Oversee stage-gate reviews, change control boards, and risk escalation processes, ensuring projects reach sufficient maturity and acceptable risk levels before advancing.
Oversee execution performance across the portfolio, monitoring schedule, cost, scope, and quality, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented when necessary.
Drive company-level resource and capacity planning, forecasting internal and external resource demand and optimizing allocation across concurrent projects.
Serve as the central Project Delivery interface to senior leadership, presenting portfolio performance clearly, highlighting cross-project dependencies
Facilitate cross-functional alignment and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
University degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in project or program management, ideally within renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or complex industrial projects.
Proven experience establishing or scaling a Project Delivery function or implementing governance frameworks across multiple projects.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder environments.
Experience in portfolio management, resource planning, and investment-driven project prioritization.
Solid financial literacy, including understanding of IRR, project economics, and risk-adjusted decision-making.
Fluency in English. Polish is a plus.
