Role Description

As a Construction Project Manager, you will manage the owner-side construction of a portfolio of BESS projects in Poland. You will oversee project execution, commissioning, and handover, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with contractual, technical, quality, HSE, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Lead the construction delivery of assigned BESS projects in Poland.

• Ensure projects are executed in line with approved scope, schedule, budget, and company standards.

• Act as the main owner-side construction representative for assigned projects.

• Coordinate project execution from mobilisation through to handover

Contract and Contractor Management

• Manage the execution and performance of the following contracts for each project:

  • Owner’s Engineer

  • BOP Contractor

  • BESS and MV Equipment Manufacturer

  • EMS System Provider

• Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables.

• Review progress, claims, variations, delays, and corrective action plans.

• Escalate major contract performance issues to the Construction Director.

Interface Management

• Coordinate interfaces across civil, electrical, MV, BESS, controls, communications, and EMS scopes.

• Ensure alignment between contractors on design inputs, site readiness, installation sequencing, testing, and commissioning.

• Identify and resolve scope gaps, overlaps, and interface risks.

HSE and Quality Oversight

• Promote a strong safety culture across all assigned projects.

• Ensure contractors operate in line with HSE requirements and Polish regulations.

• Oversee quality compliance, inspections, defect tracking, and close-out.

• Ensure non-conformances and incidents are managed and escalated appropriately.

Planning, Cost, and Risk Control

• Review and monitor construction schedules and milestone achievement.

• Track project progress against baseline and support recovery actions where required.

• Monitor budget, forecasts, variations, and claims exposure.

• Maintain visibility of project risks, issues, and mitigation measures.

Commissioning and Handover

• Coordinate testing, commissioning, energisation, and acceptance activities.

• Ensure readiness for key milestones and statutory or contractual approvals.

• Support handover to Operations, including transfer of final documentation, warranties, and records.

Reporting and Stakeholder Management

• Provide regular reports covering progress, cost, HSE, quality, risks, and key decisions.

• Lead project meetings, contractor meetings, and interface reviews.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders

• Liaise with external stakeholders as required, including authorities, utilities, advisors, and consultants.

Qualification Criteria

Experience:

• Significant experience in construction or project management in power, renewables, substations, BESS, or comparable infrastructure projects.

• Experience managing multiple contractors on complex construction projects.

• Good knowledge of construction delivery, HSE, quality, schedule, contract, and risk management.

• Experience with testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical infrastructure projects.

• Understanding of the connection to the grid process (NC RfG code)

Education:

• Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management

Languages:

• Fluent English required

• Strong project execution and delivery focus.

• Ability to manage risk, priorities, and deadlines.

• Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.

• Stakeholder management and coordination skills.

• Strong attention to safety, quality, and compliance.

• Regular travel to project sites within Poland.

• Hybrid flexible model, home/ office based with site-based presence required during key construction, commissioning and connection phases.
