Role Description

The Analyst / Associate plays a critical role in the origination, financing, execution, and management of Tavion’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) investments. The Analyst / Associate works closely with both internal and external parties and is also responsible for coaching more junior members of the team and/or members of the Tavion organization in matters related to investment and financing.

Key Responsibilities

Financing (Debt): Support the sourcing, structuring, and securing of third-party financing (Senior, Mezzanine, Unitranche Debt, Bonds etc) at various group level (Project, HoldCo, MidCo, TopCo, etc).

Investment and Equity Processes: Conduct investment analysis and provide support in equity processes (e.g. capital raises, equity investments, and divestments) to support Tavion's investment decisions.

Financial Analysis and Financial Modelling: Build and maintain detailed financial models for valuation, project finance, and scenario analysis to support financing and investment decisions.

Lender/investor Management: collect and collate the information required to be shared with Lenders/investors under the financing documentation, and provide support in Post Financial activities (reporting, financial covenants testing, etc).

Transaction Support: Work alongside other teams to support the negotiation and structuring of project documents (such as Tolling Agreements, Construction agreements, and Operational agreements etc.), ensuring bankability and alignment with Tavion’s financing and investment policies.

Due Diligence: Lead/support as required in lender/investor due diligence processes.

Ad-hoc Analysis: Support on ad-hoc analyses, including structuring new investment vehicles and evaluating new markets or geographies.

Key Interfaces

Internal: Finance team, Investment Committee, Legal team, M&A and Development team, Revenue team, Construction team.

External: Lenders, investors, consultants and other stakeholders.

Qualification criteria

At least two years of experience in a similar function (investment or financing)

Necessary qualifications, skills and experience:

Proficient in financial analysis and financial modelling.

Familiar with financing documentation and financing processes.

Experience in preparing and presenting to senior stakeholders / IC

Actively participated in financing and/or M&A, including successfully managing multiple workstreams independently (due diligence, modelling, etc).

Able to act independently and proactively, anticipating team or organisational needs.
