Sourcing Manager, BESS equipment
Build Tavion’s European and global supplier network for BESS, EMS and SCADA — negotiating strong agreements that secure value, quality and reliable delivery.
Role descpription
As Sourcing Manager, you will take a key role in building and strengthening Tavion’s supplier base for BESS equipment, EMS and SCADA across our European portfolio.
You will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, identifying and evaluating suppliers, and negotiating commercial agreements that secure competitive terms, capacity and reliable delivery. Working with both European and international suppliers, you will help establish a scalable supply chain that supports Tavion’s growth ambitions.
You will work closely with Engineering to translate technical requirements and the project pipeline into effective sourcing strategies, and collaborate with Legal on contract negotiations. You will also coordinate closely with the wider sourcing team to ensure that equipment and construction procurement are commercially and operationally aligned.
The role combines strategic sourcing with hands-on commercial execution and offers significant influence over Tavion’s cost base, supplier relationships and delivery security.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for BESS equipment, EMS and SCADA in close collaboration with Engineering.
Expand and diversify Tavion’s supplier base across Europe and Asia through market mapping, supplier qualification and competitive sourcing processes.
Lead RFI/RFQ processes, evaluate commercial and technical proposals, and provide clear recommendations for supplier selection.
Negotiate frame agreements and key commercial terms with suppliers, working closely with Legal and relevant internal stakeholders.
Assess suppliers across technical capability, commercial strength, quality, financial stability and compliance.
Build strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers and position Tavion as an attractive and credible customer.
Stay close to supplier technology roadmaps, market developments, pricing trends and supply-chain risks.
Ensure sourcing strategies reflect Tavion’s future project pipeline, technical requirements and volume needs.
Maintain an effective supplier portfolio and ensure a structured handover to project procurement for execution.
Qualification Criterias
Required
8–10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, ideally within energy, industrial equipment, infrastructure or a related sector.
Strong track record of negotiating and closing complex supply agreements with international suppliers.
Experience working with global supply chains and suppliers across different markets and cultures.
Strong commercial and negotiation skills, combined with a good understanding of key contractual terms and commercial risk.
Structured and analytical approach to supplier evaluation, cost and risk.
Comfortable working closely with technical teams and translating technical requirements into commercial sourcing decisions.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to represent Tavion credibly with senior supplier stakeholders.
Fluent in English, written and spoken, and willing to travel internationally.
Advantageous
Experience sourcing from and negotiating with Chinese suppliers.
Experience within BESS, EMS, SCADA, renewable energy or other energy infrastructure.
Polish, Spanish or Italian language skills.
